Contact lenses need not be expensive; we offer a variety of ways to pay for your lenses based on lens type and frequency of wear. The most convenient and cost effective way would be with our Direct Debit Scheme or combining your payments with our Eyeplan Scheme. Both Schemes cover lenses, solutions and all aftercare appointments. The Eyeplan Scheme, in addition, gives generous discounts on spectacles and sunglasses.

Types of Lenses:
Soft Contact Lenses
Many of the contact lenses we fit are soft lenses. They are convenient and instantly comfortable. They come in daily, two weekly and monthly supplies and can suit a wide range of prescriptions.
Daily Disposables
The most convenient contact lens – wear them for the day and then throw them away!! You will have no hassles of cleaning or storing your lenses as a new pair is worn each day. Daily disposables also come in a wide range of prescriptions.
Two weekly or Monthly Disposables
These lenses are worn daily for two weeks/month and then thrown away and replaced with a new pair – giving the wearer the confidence of fresh lenses. The lenses should be removed and cleaned after every time they are worn.
Continuous Wear Lenses
The latest contact lens material is Silicone Hydrogel – a highly breathable material that provides optimal oxygen supply to the cornea. This means that the lens can be worn for longer periods, without compromising ocular health. Continuous wear lenses can be worn for up to 30 days and nights without the need for them to be removed. This is great for those whose job or lifestyle means removing their lenses at night is difficult, and saves the bother of cleaning lenses. These lenses offer a safe and reversible alternative to laser vision correction.
Gas Permeable Lenses
These are hard contact lenses made of modern materials that let oxygen pass through the cornea. For many prescriptions, gas permeable lenses give the best vision. They can take slightly longer to get used to than soft lenses but can last up to a year as they are so durable. They can be worn daily but need to be cleaned and stored correctly when removed. This type of contact lens is mainly used for patients with more complicated prescriptions.
Toric Lenses
Toric lenses are used to correct astigmatism and are available in soft and gas permeable materials and are as comfortable to wear as standard lenses.
Multifocal Contact Lenses
Needing different prescriptions for distance and reading does not mean that you can’t have contact lenses. There are various options:
- The latest varifocal contact lenses have innovative designs allowing you to focus gradually, giving clear vision for distance and near.
- Wear contact lenses to correct your distance vision and have reading spectacles to wear over the top
- Have a contact lens in one eye for distance vision and one in the other eye for near vision, both eyes work together to give good vision for both distance and near. This is called Monovision.
