 The Sight Test

Step one is to find out any information about you, the patient: any medical conditions, family history or if you have any immediate concerns.

Next, we identify if you are having any problems or difficulties with your vision. Are you suffering with headaches or eyestrain?

In the third part of the examination we check the eye from the external view and then look at the back of the eye to make sure everything is healthy.

Step four is to work out if a prescription is needed to help you see short, intermediate or long distances. We assess your binocular vision to ensure the eyes work together as a pair comfortably.

Next we check to see whether any other investigations are needed, such as retinal photography, eye pressure checks or in depth field of vision screening.

Finally, if a prescription is required you will see our dispensing optician who can advise you on frames and lens types to suit you, your occupational and your sporting visual needs. We can also advise you on contact lenses.
